Good Shepherd would like to acknowledge some of our high school graduates for being a part of the
Music Ministry during their busy high school years. We want to express our thanks, wish them God’s blessings on their future endeavors and welcome them back anytime.
Grant Johnson attended Shawnee Mission Northwest where he decided to switch from trumpet to a more interesting instrument, the euphonium. Since his 5th grade year at Good Shepherd grade school, music has played a key role in his life. Grant played trumpet in the school band and at the school Masses. He joined the Rhythm of Christ group in his sophomore year and has filled the church with the sound of his euphonium. He will be a music education major at KU in the Fall where he will be in marching band and other concert bands. Grant says: “Being able to serve at Mass with music is an amazing opportunity and I hope to keep ROC in my life for years to come.” |
Ethan Luu is a graduate of St. James Academy where he was on the Swim team, involved with the Ping Pong Club and house captain of the Spikeball Club. He was lead sound tech at church training others and managing the sound board at Sunday Masses. He will attend KU in the Fall and will study pre-optometry and major in biology. Ethan is “glad he could be a part of the Good Shepherd sound techs and for the opportunity to serve his faith community.” |
Maggie Masoner graduated from Bishop Miege High School. She participated in Choir, Cheer,Theatre and was a part of their Music Ministry team and a cantor for school Masses. She was a member of the Rhythm of Christ ensemble all 4 years of high school and gradually stepped into the role of cantor for Sunday Mass. She is planning to study abroad in France and Thailand next year, and following that experience, will attend K-State to study music education. |
Clark Russell is a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest where he participated in Debate, Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band (Guitar and Bass), National Honor Society,Music National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math NHS), and KUGR (the school’s video production program). In addition to his busy schedule, he was the bass player for the Rhythm of Christ group. He plans to double major in Business and Jazz Studies at KU. His dream job is to be an audio engineer producing sound for film productions or commercial music. |
