The Choral Shepherds (Adult Choir) has been inviting new members since the late 1970’s. All are welcome as we strive to support the assembly through music at Sunday Mass (3 Sundays a month) and for additional feasts and holydays. Regular rehearsals are held.
We offer opportunities to sing in soprano, alto, tenor and bass voice as well as play instruments, under the guidance of our Music Director, Raffaele Cipriano. Trained cantors sing with this choir and are asked to attend cantor training, at the least, before their assigned Mass. Knowing how to read music is not necessary, and help is always available as you become more comfortable participating. Singing is accompanied by musicians who play the violin, flute, saxophone, trumpet and drums. If you have instrumental talent, we welcome you as well.
Over the years this choir has performed at Polski days in KCKS, traveled to the Chicago area to sing, and recorded two CD’s for Good Shepherd. As part of the parish Worship Commission this choir helps create an environment of communal prayer for liturgies and parish activities.
Many voices have joined the Choral Shepherds over the years, and remained to find a deeper spirituality as well as a satisfying musical outlet for themselves. We think of ourselves as a family within Good Shepherd Parish, and work together to praise God through song while caring about one another. Come join us as you serve God through music.
